Haiku has two meanings: 5 7 5 syllablles poem and hiking. hatena haiku is fun because we can hike while saying something you have in mind in short sentences or phrases. Don't take them too serious.

I want to know why not many people write in hatena haiku in English?
I enjoy writing in Japanese and also have a good time reading written in Japanese. I guess Japanese people feel excited to be in Japanese HATENA HAIKU community.

はて何を　はてなに俳句で　話そうか
　　気持ちや生活　見つめる思う

We went hiking and tried to find a Pacific Northwest Thrum but we could not find it.
